Pretty sure his wife was Stella, they ran the place since at least the 80's ( I used to work in the shop other side of the tracks, long before it became a Tesco).
Last time I went there was probably 10yrs ago, he was still running it then

I refueled the car at 155.9c this week.
Yesterday the price at the same petrol station is now 179.9c

Can't remember the landlord's name, but if it was the same guy who ran it when I used to go, he'd be ancient now, assuming he's still alive

Shame, but I won't hold my breath, so many pubs closing in UK

That used to be my preferred pub, until they threw me out for being underage🤣

Went to the Railway after that (til I moved out of the area)

There's a coffee brewing competition later this month in Townsville, I am seriously considering entering.
I don't consider myself an expert, but it would be fun to enter & learn from other competitors

It largely depends.
Most of the time I normally have beer or wine, but g&t done right is a great summer drink

I dont particularly like the taste of gin without something to temper it.
Can have a sip of gin to taste it, but need the calming influence of tonic for a proper drink.

Don't think I've ever drunk toner, accidentally or otherwise 🤔

Ended buying a couple more bottles this week (trying to keep this one for a family visitor later in the year)

Poltergeist Gin, the pepper berry really makes this gin outstanding, and needs nothing more than ice & tonic water
