"You and he were... Buddies, weren't you?"
You can hear me waffle on about Garth Marenghi on this Halloween special of YHBW. Great fun as always! Dim the lights or switch them off if you don't have dimmers... And enjoy. Well, I SAY enjoy...

31.10.2025 16:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lovely getting to know Kath! Plus, if you enjoy two gingers chatting about their love for 'The Simpsons', I've got some good news for you. Big thanks to @lucyfarrett.bsky.social for connecting us!
30.10.2025 11:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had to really scale back on this episode, yet the result - combined with Odinn's faultless score - is still something of which I am immensely proud. Turn up the volume and get lost in the horrible wellness world of GLUB.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! πππ»πΌππ§ (3/3)
We recorded them both in studio but at separate times (not that you'd notice). I also have to give a big thank you to all our cast members who gave us their remote voice cameos for this episode - whether it was a voxpop, an announcement, or a random line/scream for the fake trailer. (2/3)
29.10.2025 20:08 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Just look at our disturbingly talented two-hander cast of our Special Episode! π€©
Beth brought a sickly sweet tone to Gwen we hadn't anticipated and Lucy brought a dry Northern lilt to Ashley that we hadn't considered. And they both made us laugh constantly. Always a treat working with them! (1/3)
Very sad to hear that we've lost the superb Prunella Scales. A comedic gem! My family would always quote Sybil's "BASIL!" or "Ohh I knooow." I really hope wherever she is that she is reunited with Timothy West. Their love was always so beautiful. R.I.P. π’

I first met Georgia when I was a runner on her BBC Four sitcom 'Quick Cuts' back in 2013. Amazingly, we've kept in touch all these years. I was so thrilled when she agreed to be a guest on this. Another ep I implore you to listen to if you have any interest in comedy writing. You'll learn a lot!

IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS - The third part of John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy which I managed to find in its entirety on YouTube! It's a pretty fucking crazy film - both funny and eerie - and I was definitely hooked. Fab cast as well, I sometimes forget that Sam Neil can really do horror!
24.10.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0THE MONKEY - I haven't read the original Stephen King story but I really enjoyed this. I couldn't believe that Theo James was playing both brothers, he was great! It's a solid comedy horror with hilariously gory deaths - some where people literally combust. And the monkey is creepy as fuck! (Prime)
24.10.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0BURKE & HARE - This is better than I thought it would be although it's still not as good as it should be - especially with THIS CAST! It's a good laugh and pretty goofy. It's trying to be a modern Ealing Comedy but it's come out more of a Carry On instead (albeit one of the better Carry Ons).
24.10.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0VAMPIRE'S KISS - 'I'M A VAMPIRE!!!' I realised that I had already seen most of this film via the classic YouTube hit 'Nicholas Cage Loses His Shit'. His performance in this is what we might call 'peak Cage'. It's unforgettable. The film is good fun but it's nothing without him. (Prime)
24.10.2025 15:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A week of very dark comedies in the Isolation Cinema with some thrills, one or two chills, and plenty of spills!

18.10.2025 08:33 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0*Bonus* Re-watched CREEPSHOW having just finished the whole TV series. The film is a brilliantly weird, eerie anthology! I had totally forgotten about the story that has Ted Danson and a surprisngly really nasty Leslie Nielsen, which is amazing! I had not forgotten, however, the cockroach story... π¨
17.10.2025 17:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1978) - I adore the original but this remake is superb! Leonard Nimoy is such a bastard in it. If you didn't know the ending, it would be way more chilling but unfortunately that shot is on the bloody poster. Regardless, the whole thing is still haunting. (Prime)
17.10.2025 17:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0LISA FRANKENSTEIN - This isn't bad, it's got funny moments and is an interesting modern spin on a Reanimator type shlockfest (even though it's set in the 80s, I think). It does get increasingly ridiculous and disgusting. If I'm being truly honest, you'd be better off just watching 'Frankenhooker'.
