Folks at the CDC bravely walking out today. They've been demonized, harassed, and shot at, and they haven't given up on us. Bless them all.

I've seen people laughing at the idea he could be covering up bruises from handshake trauma, but I actually buy it.

He's a notorious asshole who tries to "win" handshakes by painfully squeezing & jerking people's arms towards himself.

Maybe some of those world leaders he met with didn't back down?

Norwescon '24, @luminousluke.bsky.social and I made a bet. We'd have completed novel rough drafts by Norwescon '25. The prize? A bottle of decent whiskey. If only one of us met the goal, they'd get the bottle to themselves. If neither of us succeeded we'd watch our friends enjoy it instead.

I've got an extensive (nearly finished) outline, thousands of words worldbuilding, reams of research, & a measly 5k towards the draft. All that being said, Worldcon has me buzzing with writing energy, so I'm feeling more optimistic about meeting that deadline than ever. Let's do this & share that 🥃!
