... I've included some rules for a variation on poker I call Homeless Poker (because there's no house), but the cards are designed to be used with any card game you can think of.
Oh, and here are two demo cards for you: the Emperor of Water, and the suits and ranks of the deck.
This is my first ever card game, so there isn't a review article for me to point you, unfortunately!
I can try explain a little, though.
This deck is an iteration of the standard poker deck using elements rather than suits, with 15 rather than 13 cards per suit (9 pip, 6 face).
(Cont'd)
So it's not Daggerheart - but I made a thing. My very own card game, in fact!

Excellent, thank you for the rapid reply. Appreciate everything you folks are doing!

@heartofdaggers.bsky.social - you folks are getting so good at implementing new features, you're adding them before I even ask!
Adding PayPal is just a >chef's kiss< moment, honestly.
I don't just write Daggerheart supplements, folks - sometimes I get a tickle in my chest and whoops now I've gone and made a map based on a tourism job I held for eighteen months.
Hm. There might actually be some stories in here ...
(also YES I'm showing off. That's what social media is for!)
Hey folks! Are you playing a game of Daggerheart and thinking to yourself "Hm, I would LOVE a horse / car / tank / mech right about now?"
Well then. Allow me to introduce you to the Elementary Vehicle Rule Kit!
Take a look. See if there's anything in it for you!

Hah! I've had the same thing happen to me with my writing. I choose to take it as a compliment that I'm on the same wavelength as the True Blue Professionals (TM).
And yes, definitely plenty of usefulness in this. All the best with hitting your goals, mate!

Hey, I'm making a cool #Daggerheart thing, and once I get $13 more I'll start releasing plenty of Adversaries pretty often until they end up making a very cool-looking product.
Would really appreciate it if you checked it out ☺️

Oh, this is GENIUS. I love a good iteration on the core rules.
Also, I'm running my own game and any new tools for the GM are only ever going to be appreciated.
Hm. Guaranteed discovery sounds a lot like exposure, to be honest. Revenue share would be the closest to how my country suggests indie artists work together.
Whatever works best for the artist, honestly; I just struggle to afford USD prices from all the way down here.
(This is meant to be a humble request, by the way. Word counts are the bane of good manners, I swear)

@heartofdaggers.bsky.social, I have an incredibly esoteric request:
Is there a way you can think of to connect writers with artists, where the writer doesn't have the upfront budget to contract the work - in a way that benefits the artist?
And that's my third bit of writing for a TTRPG published.
Currently available on itch.io, soon to be available on DriveThruRPG - I present, the Elementary Vehicle Rule Kit.
Featuring a bunch of stuff, but most importantly -
Twenty.
Three.
Vehicles!

Hmm, yeah. I'm using my releases to build a portfolio (but also to establish that I know how much I'm worth), so I'm still a little on-the-fence about whether this actually provides me value or not.

A question for all the other folks selling Daggerheart products through DriveThru:
What's the advantage of joining in on a sale? I'm pretty small fry (okay, fine. VERY small fry) in the scheme of things, and I wonder what boon there is supposed to be in dropping my prices.
Oooooooh.
Big ups to Tania for sharing that awesome stuff. I legitimately thought your cover art was a commissioned piece, it's so impressive.
(Also: I cannot wait to dig through your book. It looks amazing!)
One thing I will say: the sidecar mechanic is custom made for vehicles.

So.
I mentioned awhile ago that I was thinking of hammering together some vehicle rules for #Daggerheart.
I'm happy to report: the first draft is done. Now it's into the weeds I go, to rewrite and recalibrate and then ultimately fiddle with the layout.
I wrote another reply but it appears to have gone missing and I'm not sure if I'd just doublepost if I repeated it.
Shortform: every martial class' abilities can be used in and out of action, and many are expressly written without combat in mind.
The Warrior: Call of the Brave has a foundation feature called "Courage"; when they fail a roll with Fear, they gain a Hope.
The Ranger can have a companion, which has some heavy narrative potential just by existing.
The Guardian can gain an additional Stress slot.
Absolutely! The Seraph's class feature is "Prayer Dice". Basically, they get to hand these prayer dice out to players to add to a roll's result after the roll is made, gain Hope equal to the Prayer Dice value, and also (as a purely action feature) reduce incoming damage.
11.01.2026 03:33 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Everything! There's no actual "in-combat / out-combat" in Daggerheart - or at least, I argue there isn't. It's far better to think of DH as having a narrative / action divide, and the way the rules are written any ability can be used actively or narratively.

First time I ever GM'd Daggerheart, the very first player roll out of the gate was a double 12.
Gotta love the Crit mechanic.
Ah! I was hoping to draw someone from the original discussion out!
It sounds like I want artwork to grab folks' attention, but should also make sure I actually have some decent content to go with it, too.
I wonder if there's other ways to grab attention ...
Yeah, that seems like the inevitable conclusion here.
Sorry, rest-of-the-world.
I've been doing this! My biggest hassle was finding a good platform that didn't just hurl AIslop at me (pexels is great, btw).
I'm just pondering; I'm doing a vehicle rules kit for Daggerheart and I'm contemplating some actual commissioned pieces for some of the crazier vehicles.
Yeah, marketing, hm.
My issue is that I earn (and spend) NZ$, and the exchange rate is quite frankly diabolical - so the risk of contracting a good artist is about twice as much for me.
