It’s odd. @carlquintanilla.bsky.social doesn’t seem to care about helping out people reliant on screen readers, but using alt text means the image gets shared more widely, increasing views. Plus it’s easier often to read the alt text than to manipulate an image enough that you can read its text.

I have a setting switched on that doesn’t allow me to post images w/o alt text. Bluesky makes it easy to copy and paste any text from the image into the alt text box so it’s quick and easy, isn’t really a hassle to accommodate. And I know it makes a difference for the people who need it.
