I haven't been keeping up with modding so I don't what's new.
I've talked about everything I wanted to talk about in the previous stream and in the artbook so there wouldn't be much to talk about.

There isn't that much to show off, it was supposed to be a short visual novel project so most of the assets are just portraits.

it doesnt matter if the said sewer level is good or not, it just needs to be there
It's likely I reuse this engine in the future, but don't expect it to be Magnoliรจre (or anything rabbit hole related).
Who knows, I might use it as an excuse write a story on my own. It wouldn't be a very good story, but I'd like to try.

Unfortunately, the story never progressed further than a few rough drafts because the writer couldn't find the time to work on it. After multiple months of waiting, I killed the project because it was clear to me that it was taking a toll on the writer who literally couldn't work on it.

Outside of the story, almost everything else was done before the day of the anniversary. The gameplay, engine, music, spritework and models were all done and all I was waiting for was for the story to be done, which is why I didn't cancel it originally.

Saving & loading is finally done!
I can FINALLY start spriting out the first area.
Progress is slow but steady, i'm honestly just really worried about the voice chat because it's been a mess since the beginning of development. If anyone has any experience with C# VOIP on godot, please help me.

As for what's next, I'm implementing saving/loading to the game next week. Then afterwards it'll be a lot of spritework for a few weeks as i'm going into production of the first area.
Playtesters have also been struggling with voice chat and i'm afraid i'll have to tweak it again.

Also took the time to finally implement a death screen, very happy with how it turned out!
Playtesters won't have to awkwardly sit around when they die anymore.
And I added a menu for seperate gamemodes, though none of them are any different yet.

This is important because it allows Necrosis Party to survive if steam ever shuts down.
Players also have a lot more control over game settings now!
I've added options like disabling friendly fire and limb stealing to allow players to play the way they prefer.

Been a while since I've given a update so here's everything i've been up to!
Now that most of the basic mechanics have been implemented, i'm moving my focus back on netcode and menus.
I've added the ability to play through LAN or solo, which don't require an internet connection to play.

Gotta finish up some commission work first but I should be done with all the menu work by the end of the month.
Dispatch is overall a super fun game with a very loveable cast. It's also a "telltale game" with actual fun gameplay that reinforces the story. Pretty great stuff!
I recommend to play it with some friends. Super fun.
