I think it’s almost impossible to estimate, but the study is definitely a commendable attempt in the right direction...

I believe this number is shocking, but also a huge underestimate. Diseases and conditions hardly show liniair growth in their impact. Take Malaria. One season of missed community interventions can make it radically expand. There are also major cuts in health workforce and training. #globalhealth

It is a complex topic, and I may have made mistakes or inaccuracies, so I appreciate any kind of feedback.

But on the other hand, it also motivates me, because I believe younger humanitarian workers need to understand the history behind such important initiatives as the Core Humanitarian Standards, ALNAP, or the Sphere Handbook.

On the one hand, this makes writing about these topics quite difficult for me, as I feel very small when I read about so many inspiring people who accomplished such great things.

Sometimes I have the impression that those of us who started working in humanitarian action and international cooperation fifteen years ago barely understand in depth everything that shaped the humanitarian system as we know it today.
