Got to say I’m feeling those hills now, especially that final climb up Queen Street, not sure my right knee will ever be the same. I will train next year… Thanks to Morley Town Cryer, Steven Holt, for seeing us off and to the Morley Mayor, Carol Edwards, for welcoming us at the finishing line.

Pleased to finish my first Morley 10K as a member of Morley Running Club, never forgetting, of course, the 10K mud run I did alongside Veterans In Need Together earlier this year.

A very special mention to the firefighters who ran the whole course in full kit, oxygen tanks and all! The did this in support of the Fire Fighters Charity, please check them out and consider supporting their cause.

Massive well done to everyone who organised and took part in the Morley 10K this weekend! Is this the hilliest 10K?

The marshalls and Morley Running Club did such an amazing job, wonderful to see Morley at its best!

So good to run alongside so many people from our communities.

I’m horrified by today's attack at a synagogue in Manchester.

The fact that this has taken place on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish religious calendar, is despicable.

My thoughts are with the Jewish community and the loved ones of all those affected.

We discussed the crucial role played by community pharmacies, the challenges they face and the need for more detail and clarity about pharmacies in the NHS 10-Year Plan.

I now have a better understanding of just how essential this impressive logistical operation is in quickly supplying the medicines everyone needs to almost every corner of the country.

Thank you to Rachel from NAFD and to Meike, Lauren, Daniel and Alison from Co-op Funeralcare for your time. It was very clear from my visit to the Co-op's Leeds site just how much care and attention their staff give to the deceased and their families.

As previously confirmed, I have secured a meeting between Ministry of Justice Minister Alex Davies-Jones and Cody, Liam and Zoe. This is just the first step towards introducing a new law that will properly regulate the funeral industry.

Given both organisations' expertise in this area, I was really interested in their calls for the Human Tissue Authority to be given an expanded role as the enforcer for a set of national, statutory regulations. I will take these suggestions forward to ministers.

It's time to regulate the funeral industry.

I had very productive meetings with the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) and with the largest single provider of funerals in the UK, Co-op Funeralcare.

They were both unambiguous about their support for regulation of the funeral sector.

I was really pleased to join the Leeds Diving Club at Elland Road stadium to celebrate the incredible work of their divers, the coaches, the committee and everyone involved in this success story which includes lots of people living in our constituency. More on this soon.

We continued our weekly door-to-door conversations, this week in Farnley along with an amazing team and local councillors Adrian McCluskey and Kate Haigh.

Congratulations to my caseworker Jade on her stunning victory in one of the charity bingo matches for St John Ambulance at Bruntcliffe Club. She liked her prizes. Big thank you and huge well done to the organisers for a successful event.

Great weekend spent across Leeds South West & Morley and a bit beyond.

Thanks to all the residents who came to my open surgery in Lofthouse. Some really challenging cases that my team and I will work on this coming week.

Appreciate the irony as this will sound like those typical statements you've been hearing but I do have something concrete to announce on this soon - I can't disclose anything today.

It's been a source of great frustration to me - it must be completed.

We also covered the need to make the station as accessible as possible from the town centre, something they are addressing with the Morley Town Deal. I will be returning soon so see their progress on this and to go inside the tunnel to see their work there too. I’ll update residents again soon.

We did of course raise the disruption and rail-replacement buses and stressed the need to complete the work on time and to plan so that we can take advantage of the improved journey times.
