The uses that have been discussed here would absolutely not require the vast amounts of energy that are in use now. We're talking about individual machines doing 40 queries a weekish in a law firm or a doctor's office. Many days they may not be used at all.

As you said, AI is a pattern recognition machine. The outputs are not the end, doctors are needed to check out the results and confirm them. It has so many amazing uses and yet people just want to replace people they deem unworthy.
