Draw a messy sketch. Work off your sketch and block out the base! Personally, I skip cleaning the lineart + jump in. I focus on the silhouette. Also using a "crunchy" pen helps give it an imperfect edge that I like. I try to approach this piece as if I were trying to make this irl + visualize 'cutting' individual parts. So I make separate layers for The Arms, hair, face, head etc. This is tedious, but it will give it more depth. Tip: try to name layers + have folders.

Then I add the main textures! Just search for felt paper in the color you want. Next I clip the texture onto every individual layer/part. I try to limit colors so it's less busy. Still a little flat...so I duplicate layers + Make it a solid color like a red shade. Blur it slightly. Multiply (Opacity at 80%). Drag it to the bottom right a bit. Better but let's add more!

Copy the original shape/layer again. Increase the brightness. Increase the size + Blur. Drag to the upper left. Opposite of the shadows. Repeat for everything. I focused on the decorations last, still applying the previous steps. I used a stitch pen for the details,making sure it was slightly crooked to give it a more "real" feel .

Lastly I use an auto-action; rainbow noise texture. And overlay it over the entire piece at 50% For a sharper look! I hope this helps!
