Never understood parents who think their kids will or should follow their taste in music. Its weird, like kids dont exist in a bubble: school, mates, tik tok. Guaranteed 2+yrs this kid will not:

I’ve really enjoyed all of these podcasts from Miranda Sawyer, recommended. This one will be good. Ted’s funny and insightful. Also plug that a subscription to The New Cue is recommended, a shortcut for old people like me and possibly you to keep across new releases.

Back to McDs - was originally just him and then he asked me to come up. Mostly on Facebook I think, am not on there. Sold out quite quickly I think.

Mate and I used to do club in Greenock early 90s. Did it again last night, in Town Hall as one of his former students does ents bookings there. Was a lot of fun.

The Smiths is a band.

It really is. "On some level, we’re nostalgic not only for β€˜Wonderwall’ and β€˜Supersonic’ as songs, but for a time before the broader cultural malaise they inspired became quite so inescapable"

Really? It reads a lot like the same 'why do idiots like this band?' Suede fans have been writing since 1995. For fans of the False Consciousness school of Marxism. People like Oasis, its fine.

I'm glad Sadiq is the Mayor of my city.
There's a reason he keeps winning elections.

Great album. Way I read it was the main guy Luke’s spin off band Empire of the Sun was way, way more successful so he just stuck with that. 1billion+ streamers can’t be wrong, to paraphrase the Elvis line.

Just taken delivery of this reproduction poster from @monorailmusic.bsky.social . Used it as entree to explain in detail to kid the Factory records approach to providing catalogue numbers to things as well as records. Started with 'what is a catalogue number?'. Properly bored her shitless. Skills.

The (Heavenly) Social, off Portland St. We did my wife’s 50th birthday on a Saturday downstairs. Was more than that but not hugely more so probably haggle given Tuesday. Also, if you just need upstairs bar might be cheaper.
