An industry-led thinktank released a "Draghi/Letta-Report for Denmark" suggesting that pension funds should be allowed to invest in risk capital. That sounds like B&Ds story of private equity (eg Blackrock) aiming for a profitable exit of inflated holdings by bringing pensions into PE market.

Petit commentaire d’image.

I like the epistemological conlcusion also : "To make credible causal claims, the researcher must have a firm grasp on what exactly is causing changes in what, and she must correctly characterize the treatment and correctly characterize the control."

" the effect of washing machines on married women’s labor supply is likely the result of economic development and changes in norms for household goods more generally, rather than a causal impact of washing machine ownership on married women’s labor supply." Ouch. works with TV too. Great work !

Great read on "the circumstances that led big tech to join private finance as the second capital faction backing the return of Trump" and why big tech now has big worries about the geoeconomic fragmentation - and efforts by former allies to pursue digital sovereignty - that Trump has unleashed.

Financialization is what top US universities built (it's still the dominant path of graduates), & it chose Trump.

We wrote about the US ruling class taking the reins to manage its own decline. What do the Trumpist factions of capital want? Can that be squared with the interests of the MAGA base? Capable state managers could potentially thread the needle, but that's all gone. With @cedricdurand.bsky.social.
