Brewers were overly aggressive at the plate which led us to not capitalize on the Dodgers horrible bullpen. Offense needs improvement.

Pitching was fine.

If you are team like the Mets or Dodgers, $20M AAV is nothing. Just bring in another guy.

For example with Freddy Peralta. Brewers have to consider if he is worth $30M AAV AND not flipping him for 2 you g controllable starters.

It’s a tough sell either way.

The big issue with just spend more is one long term albatross hampers your ability to compete.

If the Brewers signed Castellanos for example, it log jams up a position a young guy can get developed and flipped, and it reduces your ability to spend in other areas.

Small markets can’t out buy.

Corbin Burnes netted the Brewers 2 top 100 prospects coming off a 3.4 fWAR year. His peak was higher than Freddy, but Freddy is coming off of his best season.

Freddy is also making half of what Corbin made in his final year with the Brewers. Burnes signed for $15M in arb before getting traded.

Is it worse mentally to get swept or to lose Game 7?

The cost of extending someone like Freddy is two fold.

1) He is going to get PAID. We won’t be coughing up $30+M for 5 IP.

2) The prospect capital he brings back in a trade is HUGE.

Is $150M/5yr and losing two MLB ready players for 6 years worth Freddy?

Rotation seems full of young guns vying for the opportunity.

The Brewers have 6 years of control over Miz.

Turang isn’t winning this year. Hoerner has him blown out of the water this year. Can’t even play the game of OAA or DRS being better because it supports my guy.
