ironically this also makes me less annoyed with the members of House Dem rank-and-file who did protest. I thought the protests were generally weak but if even silent disruptions are disobeying leadership I gotta give some credit.

I do not understand why people still act like Russiagate wasn’t real. They were organizing meetings. Trump literally asked them to hack the Russians on TV. Mike Flynn got busted by the FBI. I get that the press downplays because it is because they willingly and knowingly amplified a Russian op.

the way the American left and center-left neglect Spanish isn't as bad as it would be for, say, a Canadian party to neglect French, but it is still a rather serious self-inflicted wound

This was the moment, just over a month ago, when the ADL could've put an end to Republicans doing Nazi salutes. They didn't. They chose instead to provide cover by calling it "an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm." Now the sieg heil salute has been normalized.

The ADL literally had ONE JOB.

If we have a normal, constitutional election in 2028, I think Democrats are absolutely making a huge mistake if they don't nominate someone who speaks Spanish
