The Strokes are one of the bands I thought I'd never get to see live (i was too young and poor in their heyday to have gone to a show)

Finished a book depicting domestic violence only to open reddit and find out that there was a DV murder-suicide nearby today.

So sad for the woman robbed of life and a future, and for her loved ones left behind. So angry that there will never be an end to violence against women.

Goodreads 2026 reading challenge shows im at 17 books read, and with a goal of 75, that puts me at 23% of the way to my goal, and 6 books ahead of schedule.

I think I’ll increase my reading goal to 100 to be at parity with the number of books I read in 2025. At this rate, it seems achievable.

Finished + largely satisfied. Got a high heart rate notification from my watch during the final act.

Need to pick up something lighter to read since the 5 other books I’m actively working through are all tense and bleak, much like everything going on irl.

So bleak that reading in long stretches feels like it’s teetering on self-harm. But I need to know that things get better for them.
