Three comics panels. In the first something sharp is being pulled out of Raven's chest. In the second one Toad looks at something that looks like a giant, barbed nail. In the third one, Toad turns the giant nail towards their own chest.

continuing the #ravencomic by speedpainting two spreads. Here's a couple panels I'm (not so) secretly pleased about. I think I'm also closing in on the style I want the comic to be.

Winter/skiing holiday! Been two years since I last jumped on a snowboard, was more fun than I remembered. Stronger thighs & calfs (from gym) must've helped. Also some cross-country skiing, (ice) swimming & lots of sauna. Thanks #vuokatti ❄️

But I am aware that alone doesn't pay the bills.

Nor should you. We live such weird times regarding the explicit value of creative output via trad skills. The intrinsic value hasn't gone anywhere, though.

Can't beat the real thing, I say. Also with paints you never get the exact same hue (if it's done by mixing), which makes the colour even more unique. A blessing and a curse.

Beautiful work! Really nice contrasts of warm and cold hues.

#figuary drawings from days 12, 14, aaand... something. Only one week left! Phew! The 5 min drawings have been quite awful, the 1-2 min sketches feel more alive and relaxed. I try to concentrate on the torso this year.

So, no new projects huh? I jumped into the rabbit hole of pasta machine printing. Now I have a machine of my own, Sirkka, and I made the first test prints yesterday. This is really fascinating! Lots to learn, lots of ideas...

Great night at the #gym! Been going only 1-2 times a week now, cos I walk so much daily with the dog. Increased weights +5kg in lunge and leg curl, and RDL'd two good sets with my body weight. So pleased! The progress is slow but into the right direction.

Just want to show I mess up and make mistakes and can't draw everything in the timeframe. Croquis IS difficult and super frustrating at times.

#figuary #figuredrawings from days 5, 7, 8 and 9. The first two images are 1 min poses. The third is two 5 min poses but the second was a total disaster and I quickly sketched it again (after giving the first version a piece of my mind like a 5-yr old). The last pic has 1 to 2 mind drawings.

#ravencomic update, pages 34-35 quickpainted. Thirteen pages left, I should get through those in three-ish weeks. So, it's a goal to start the final pencils in March!

Two more pages of #ravencomic quickpainted. I'm now on page 33 out of 48, and Raven finally meets Toad.

A quick recap: they're both spirits of dead people, implanted by accident or sorcery to the bodies of two animals. No, this is not a romance story. Toad is out to kill Raven.

Hooray! I finally managed to open the Raven-comic's project folder and continue it for one spread. Quickpainted pages 28-29, they seem fine to me. To remind, this round is a checkup on compositions and contrasts etc., next up corrections and then final pencils.
