This year so far; 71 dead on New Jersey roads including 25 pedestrians and 1 cyclist, every single one killed, either in or by being hit by a car.
Time to repeal, or whatever it's called, the state's e-Bike regulations...

And the pedantic facts are that in the US, cyclists kill 3 pedestrians a year. Drivers kill 7500.

That's 20 people out for a walk a day. Nearly one an hour. 20 people every day on sidewalks and crosswalks who don't make it home.

I'm not sure I trust them to build something useful. And anything that is ADA compliant won't have a tight chicane.

2nd, law enforcement doesn't have the time or resources to enforce this. This bill needs to include meaningful liability for retailers who sell bikes to individuals that are not licensed and insured. Retailers need to be responsible for registration just like car dealers.

I keep meaning to have a liner put in my back tire on my ebike. It's a 75 lb bike and there is no way I'm going to wrestle with it on the side of the road.

I did walk it about a mile home once with a rear flat.

I would imagine this would be much worse in the dark.

In the US, there are 8 parking spaces per car in the US. That's about 1000 square feet of parking per car vs. 800 sf of housing per person. A parking space adds about $30,000 to $60,000 to the cost of a housing unit.
