only 15%? I'd rather that number be higher. The strange eccentrics have been my favorite profs. Then again I also equate strange eccentric with neurodivergent, and I'm ND myself, and if life were different would be on my way to being strange, eccentric prof myself.

Really irritated right now, as all of a sudden my Threads account has been suspended and I have to confirm that I'm a real person. I use Threads the most when I'm lonely and frustrated, which I am right now, and now I don't have my outlet. Phooey.

is this built in to Bluesky, or are you using a separate app for this?

I need to prune my following list because I followed a bunch of academics right off the bat and now my feed is overwhelmed by stuff I'm not so interested in.

I want to spend more time on Bluesky, but keep finding myself on Threads more because my friends list over there is more developed the way I want it to be. I need to fix that, but without the algorithm Threads has, I’m not sure how yet.

Finally got myself back to the gym after far too long of a break. But my knee had been preventing it - I have no cartilage left in either, but only my right one bothers me. But I had a viscosupplementation injection on Monday and it’s fixed the problem completely.

I love them, but I can’t see one anymore with tearing up. My grandma used to give them to us every year, and she passed away 9 years ago. She’s the reason I made it through my childhood alive and I miss her so much.

Currently laying in an exam room at a hospital waiting for local anaesthetic to kick in… I’m getting a gel injection into my knee to hopefully be a replacement for the cartilage which has completely disintegrated thanks to many injuries over the years. Fingers crossed it works.

2 weeks of "classes" (ie. class work, because I'm all distance/online this semester) left, and then 2 finals and the semester is over. Now if I could just get the dogs to quit wanting to go back outside to see if there's more snow yet, so I could get some of the homework done.

What part of MB is that? I was born in a non-prairie part of the province (Flin Flon), but moved away at age 3, and just moved back to Winnipeg in August 2023. I want to do a lot of exploring and just haven't had time yet because university is keeping me busy.

I went through all of your lists looking for people who sounded interesting, and it seemed like there was overlap from list to list. Also, another Manitoban (& Winnipeger) here.

I am right there with you on this. I grew up on Vancouver Island and then lived in the Vancouver area for 16 years. Then I moved to NE BC which had similar weather to here. They have snow already this year. When I moved to Wpg, I did it partly because it had the weather I liked. So... wtf rain?

Same… made me glad I don’t have any classes on campus this semester.

I have a 4.35 GPA without any help from anyone else thanks, I don’t need to cheat.

My uni has 6-7 profs who teach it, and all use different books by the looks of the book lists from the fall. The prof I have for it didn't teach that class this semester, and there's no book list available yet. I do best when I can start things early, thanks to my ADHD/autism.

Q for university profs: if you had a student who's registered to take a class with you in the next semester, email and ask for your syllabus early, what would be your reaction? I'm taking an Intro to Literary Analysis class and want to start the reading over the winter break.

I hate the fact that I love university, I'm doing really well at it... and not only will I never be able to do graduate studies, I'm stuck limiting myself to a 90-credit-hour degree instead of a full 4 year degree, because I have to "get back to work ASAP". Feckin BS.

Ian's finally starting to realize he should move over here, but when I told him about the block lists and pre-emptive blocking, etc. he went on a huge rant. He doesn't seem to understand that not blocking these arseholes isn't going to hate them less or change my views on things.
