As wet as Andy’s armpits before the war

Can I make a joke about crumbling flaps or is this the wrong time?

I think Beverley Callard might be a closet national treasure.

I’m already in the queue, but I want you all to ring up and join my party. Yeah. Nice.

Good job I’ve got that mirrored film on my windows

If you want to feel good on a Monday, head to HMRC and listen to the hold music. It’s funky baby. Yeah. Nice.

Just found the cat eating a doner kebab in the kitchen. He must have had a heavy night.

That is a strong possibility.

Don’t know how that happened, but I’m pretty sure the mid afternoon sherry was involved.

Had a kebab.

Sorry, I should be more supportive. I couldn’t actually see what you weighed because your flaps were obscuring the numbers.

Skirt designers: let’s make sure they either cover your ankles, or barely cover your minge, and those are the only choices.

I’d forgotten about this, devastated that I clearly became distracted and wimped out

Definitely, it’s so important to do stuff, rather than throw stones

Tomorrow I shall throw away the frozen batch cooked portions which I’ve gone off which I always go off but have left enough time to throw them away without guilt.

She’s never given up on any of it!

05.03.2026 21:29 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

She’s amazing really. She got a bit of local recognition on the weekend and sent me the certificate tonight and I just thought β€œSHE IS AMAZING”.

05.03.2026 19:46 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I do wish more people realised they have some agency to do something about the things they see. She’s never looked to the official people to fix stuff, she’s looked to them for grants and funding and has got it done. It’s possible to do, but takes determined people to find the ways to do it.

05.03.2026 19:46 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

And I don’t miss any of it, and just watch her and think β€œthat’s my Mum, that is”.

You’ll still find her in town, with other volunteers making sure the flower beds and planters are weeded and blooming. You’ll still find her raising money for said flowers and from local businesses every year to make the town tidy and welcoming. She still chairs boards, meetings and workshops.

05.03.2026 19:41 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

she always posted without fail. I remember visiting the patients who couldn’t go home on Christmas Day, at the local hospital.

She’s 81 now. She still goes to serve lunches to β€œthe elderly” helped by my now retired 80 year old father. They probably serve meals to people much younger than them.

05.03.2026 19:41 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I can’t even begin to recount the things she’s rolled her sleeves up and done because she saw a problem. I remember the smell of apple crumble and custard when we delivered meals on wheels to the elderly when I was very small. I can remember licking stamps for the hundreds of Christmas cards
