As if the nonsense-spouting machine could ever copy our array of nerdy hyperfixations, carefully assembled over decades of pre-chatbot research.

I’m not sure but there have got to be dozens of little duck skeletons at the bottom who all had the same idea.

It lands with a dull splat, more like hitting jelly than water. For a moment, nothing happens.

Then the sludge ripples. A single ripple… moving toward the stick.

Slowly and without a sound the stick slips beneath the surface.

The water settles. Still. And Silent.

You kneel at the edge of the river and scoop the green sludge to your lips.

It coats your hands like congealed fat, thick and clinging between your fingers.

It’s warm. And thick. It clings to your tongue like oil. The taste is sharp, bitter and foul.

Make a Constitution saving throw.

Passed this interesting little canal while out with the boys this morning. I’ve never actually seen the water here, it’s always this thick algae. At least I hope it’s algae 😬

You arrive at a narrow river, the trees arching high overhead form a dense canopy. Below, the water is still. A thick, green film stretches from bank to bank. You can’t see the water beneath. There is no obvious crossing.

What do you do?

There’s a lot of understandable hype around it but I’m not sure it’s the system for me.

Thanks for filling me in. The narrative first focus makes sense for the CR crowd. The damage situation does sound convoluted and odd.

My wife was asking just last night if I was planning on getting the system, before I do I’ll definitely need to play it first.

I’m curious about your take on the system. I can’t really follow the conversation you had because I’ve blocked some of those accounts, so it’s a bit hard to follow.
