For the record I agree that everyone should follow the appropriate rules and be thoughtful when navigating public space. I saw a dog owner nearly cause a very bad injury to a runner when their dogs retractable leash created a trip line. We all have responsibilities

But when confronted with this data is it fair to say that bikes deserve the same restrictions as cars?
Cyclists are hearing this more and more & I think that’s what you’re pushing up against with this post. The reaction doesn’t match the facts-cars are so much more dangerous.

It’s so hard to understand how he got elected in the first place, the guy has all the charisma of a wet face cloth and he just sounds like a robot here

What about painted bike-lanes? No safety improvement at all.

This is absolutely outrageous. How can there not be an investigation??!

The issue I was commenting on is how I want more decision makers discussing the Palantir contract and pressuring thr govt to cancel it. I’m glad he’s talking about it.

And regardless of who awarded the contract, labour should find a way to cancel the contract. Palantir shouldn’t be anywhere near UK health data

I’m aware the Tories awarded the contract but it’s my understanding that labour chose to expand the contract.

I’m so glad you’re taking on this issue. Pal anti rare such a sinister company (and it seems to me run by people heavy in dark triad traits). That we would give such a company access to such a treasure trove of sensitive data always seemed insane to me.

Wip of a needlefelt of a forest scape

1st full day of a week long artist residency on Galiano Island. I love this place & feel so inspired being here… especially now when the moss is so lush & green! I’d started this commission before I arrived. Today I was working on that green glow of sunlight through the trees 💚

And how crazy that that’s the case! When you see the insanity of car violence and the way we have designed our cities to prioritize cars over literally everything else, you really can’t unsee it 😞

Better infrastructure and speed limits on bike paths could go a long way. Some of these e-bikes are basically motorcycles and it’s unsafe to share a bike path with them. They should be on the road with cars.

I’d reiterate what many others have said- cars kill many more people. Even on sidewalks. Including an increasing number of incidents across the world where cars have been intentionally used as weapons.
And I agree- more regulation is needed for these fast bikes ridden dangerously. Not all bikes!

And it’s always the awful ones that want to live forever
