I haven't seen any ! (Though in an alternative universe where I'd have had unlimited time I'd rather learn Amharic or Tigrinya)

It's literally a scene from Nabokov's Pnin. (Minus the intent to scan it, of course)

"Elder Avestan" irresistibly suggests me that its speakers had something to do with elder trees

This is what casual antisemitism in Western academia looks like -- of two sides of the conflict, only one is deemed worthy of sympathy. (The answer to a direct question was of course along the lines "I wish peace to all the children, I haven't mentioned other conflicts either")

In (some varieties of) German, I believe, wo 'where' has become an all-purpose relativizer. Why would English be any worse? :)

There's an interview with me on youtube, which I've never listened to -- exactly to prevent that sad outcome

Modification by depictives: In favor of a binding-based account Author(s): Erschler, David | Abstract: In this paper, I use the properties of depictives in Digor and Iron Ossetic, two closely related Iranian languages of the Caucasus, to argue in favor of binding-...

My paper about how to analyze the relationship between a depictive and its possible hosts (i.e. between "Tom," "David," and "drunk" in the sentence "Tom met David drunk") appeared in Masha Polinsky's Festschrift

Abkhaz has extra symbols too (it retained the 19 c Cyrillic, the Soviet time Cyrillic scripts were more standardized) าฉ and าฟ, for instance

I am not sure where the DPs get their accusative from -- is the dative enclitic not the argument of the verb?

An almost final version of a paper about how in the course of history of Ossetic, focus movement gave rise to dedicated movement of negative indefinites. It's embarrassing to say when I gave the first talk on this topic...
