I think anyone who calls the Batman rouge’s gallery that is the NYT opinion page “coworkers” should examine every facet of their existence.

I think he’d find a much more receptive audience for protecting trans folks almost anywhere else.

By serving as a progressive shield and providing tepid “balance” over the last decade of anti trans publishing by the NYT (to say nothing of its pro genocide, pro apartheid, pro Trump reporting) he has helped strip trans people of their rights, yes.

The need to defend the honor of this place (or besmirch it) will never not be the real “weird” behavior for me.

We’re bombing like 7 different countries. Trans people are being legally erased. We’re on year three of a genocide. The air is poison and the oceans ads running dry.

Maybe this is some bluesky lore I’ve never been exposed to but I’ve never seen a sustained, racist assault on black folks here. I’m not saying it’s never happened. I just feel like I’d hear about it more from all the black folks I follow.

I have no idea what history you’re talking about but I also haven’t been here that long. To my knowledge it’s unfriendly to most Times employees.

I try to put myself in the shoes of the trans folks who’ve had to watch a decade of vicious lies printed day after day in the paper of record. I imagine how they’d feel watching folks build entire brands off that platform while professing to be an ally.

Then it doesn’t seem so “insane”.

Acting like this is some weird pathology and not well earned fury at the New York Times and anyone who takes money from them after a decade long campaign to dehumanize and outlaw the very existence of trans folks.

I follow dozens of black leftists on here. In my experience black twitter is way more conservative than your average self identified leftist.

Like talking back to our superiors. We get it.

Many trans folks and many allies don’t like people who take money from the New York Times.

This is apparently weird and unpopular and results in a lot of drama from people making mid six figures.

Literally all three of them in the screen shot.

It speaks volumes that you think this is all some big game and not oppressed people expressing genuine and well earned rage at employees of a newspaper that’s made it their goal to erase them from polite society.

No, bad is stripping people of their basic human rights. Hope this helps.
