I'm from the Midwest; I understand the need for a truck. But I lived in a small town and a main street with everything; grocery store, library, 5 and dime, etc. Baltimore where I live does have dense neighborhoods (townhouses), but also walkable neighborhoods from the 1800s that aren't that dense.

They're a necessary evil. For most of the past 20 years we've lived in neighborhoods that were walkable(ish) and only relied on a car for longer trips. Also fortunate my company provides free shuttle buses from our neighborhood to my office; I've saved >$10K on monthly parking over my career.

Bukele better study up on Manuel Noriega. One Republican President was his ally and help put into power, while that next Republican President took him out when he outlived his usefulness. If it ends up Bukele oversees the deaths of US citizens, then his days are numbers once Trump is gone.

Does scientific evidence support a change from the LNT model for low-dose radiation risk extrapolation? - PubMed The linear no-threshold (LNT) model has been widely used to establish international rules and standards in radiation protection. Until There Is a Resolution of the Pro-LNT/Anti-LNT Debate, We Should Head Toward a More Sensible Graded Approach for Protection From Low-Dose Ionizing Radiation Current regulation of ionizing radiation is based on the linear no-threshold (LNT) model where any radiation dose increases cancer risk and is independent of dose rate, resulting in large amounts of t...

By "statistical model" they mean the authors used a linear no-threshold model (LNT) to estimate the cancer risk and extrapolated the number of cancers from the cumulative exposure; however, the reliability of LNT is questionable.

I agree but it could be a long fight and we may not see justice until long after Trump is dead.

Until I see more, I think that this is at best a slap on the wrist that Trump and Miller and Bondi will just simply ignore.

OK. Fight for Democracy, but realize that even in the United States of yesteryear there were still systems put in place to make it hard to prosecute former Presidents. Just image if the DOJ had spent as much time going after Trump's first term lawyers, advisors etc as they did going after Trump.

So in response prepare for a declaration of Martial Law as early as next week.

Sometimes evil people get away with their crimes; Stalin after all died peacefully in his bed. I'm sick and tied of hearing for the past 9 years; "Trump is finally going to be his just desserts." We need to wait him out, then go after his enablers and put laws in place to prevent future abuses.

16.04.2025 20:52 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 1    ๐Ÿ” 0    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I said that we have to accept that TRUMP will never face justice, not that we have to accept what he has done to the country. We can rebuild our democracy, but this obsession with 'getting Trump' is just a massive waste of time. There is a reason no former POTUS has ever been prosecuted.

I work in academia. The brain drain is here, and it will be massive. Probably along the lines of the European scientists who fled the Nazis in the mid 30s.

The libs need to accept the fact that Trump will never face any consequences for his actions. As we saw with "judge" Cannon, he is simply too protected by the system. That's life. However, his enablers can face justice at some point in the future. That is where the efforts need to be focused.

Final straw will be when Trump declares Martial Law and sends troops into cities like Boston. Trump may have the political capital to declare war on any states that secede, but if Trump is incapacitated then now way Vance saves the Union; it'd be like Buchanan being President during Ft Sumter.
