This beautifully hand-crocheted post box topper celebrates our seaside town with St. Mary’s Lighthouse, seals, fish and sea life. A tiny piece of yarn art bringing joy to passers-by.

Coordinated by the incredible volunteers of the Whitley Bay Chamber of Trade, the Late Night Shopping evenings will take place on Thursday 27th & Friday 28th November.

Soak up the fantastic community atmosphere right here in the heart of Whitley Bay.

Our annual Sandcastle Competition is happening again this year.

🌊 Location: Whitley Bay Beach

🕘 Time: 10am, judging begins at 1pm.

❤️Prizes for best sandcastle and best sand sculpture.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Open to families, schools, and solo sculptors. Everyone is welcome!

Yay! Blue Flags will again be flying over Whitley Bay beach after being awarded a prestigious Blue Flag Award again this year. An honour Whitley Bay has been awarded every year since 1994 🌊

Today is the 80th anniversary of VE Day. We honour the bravery, sacrifice and resilience of those who fought for peace in Europe.

A friendly reminder that as of tomorrow, 1st May until 30th September, under the Public Space Protection Order dogs are banned on certain parts of the beach. Please look out for the signs. The ban comes into force tomorrow.

The iconic St. Mary’s Lighthouse is to be illuminated red until Monday to mark St. George’s Day.
