With the weather getting colder I’ve felt a pull back toward yarn.. first time I’ve knitted in several years and I learned how to use double pointed needles for the first time.. I made a sock! Fits on a foot and everything! Yarn was designed to resemble dragon fruit which is an added bonus

Finally got some stickers added to the Janome, because imo every sewing machine needs a little RBG

I do want to see if I can find some kind of accordion fold that works (I tried initially but couldn’t get it to leave a full line exposed), the combo of this quilt being big, rectangular, and having to quilt along diagonal lines, at least for now, is definitely complicating things

This is definitely the biggest quilt I’ve ever quilted, particularly in the space that is my new sewing area which is suddenly feeling very short lol.. but I can’t really unroll, otherwise the quilt is hanging over and creating tension issues

It’s a quilt clip, super cheap on Amazon but kind of limited honestly because they don’t constrict and you can’t really expand them, so they only work for rolls the exact size that they are.. honestly still haven’t found the best solution as far as quilt clips go

Good god 100% polyester batting is unruly.. this is my first time using my new (to me) Janome 8200qc for quilting.. about gave myself an aneurysm trying to make the walking foot fit but we got there in the end πŸ˜‚ .. wish me luck!

I’m sort of in the middle of two projects, a quilt for my husband awaiting the actual quilting/binding and a quilt for my best friend that only has the top assembled.. so tonight I was of course obligated to make a procrasti-block from scraps.. I screwed up one HST but otherwise turned out cute!

If anyone’s looking for a fast way to make an overly stiff quilt softer, my recommendation is to turn it over to your two heathen dogs for a couple days.. works like a charm πŸ‘Œ

I think I’m going to try echo quilting mine, I would stitch in the ditch but I have a loooot of seams pressed open so I’d be a little nervous to hurt something lol

Waterfall II quilt.. I finally have this all sandwiched together but I’m kind of stuck on how to quilt it without affecting the 3D illusion (zigzaggy edges have been trimmed since this pic was taken)

You totally should, I tried it because my go-to of 80/20 poly/cotton seems to yield such stiff quilts (at least before they’re used/washed a few times) and this was the first quilt I made specifically for a baby.. it was so nice to finish a quilt and have it be soft right away

This is the first quilt I made using bamboo batting, the drape is SO nice and it wasn’t difficult to quilt (the way polyester can be for me).. it has now been gifted to my cousin, April, awaiting her soon to be baby girl!

Love this! My goal for 2025 is to make at least a couple of quilts with bright and saturated colors, this is good inspiration 😁
