This doesn’t look Khmer - head of Male Deity, 12-13th century, sandstone, labelled as being with Khmer tribal anatomical features, as part of the Corfu Museum of Asian Art in Greece. Any ideas anyone?

Definitely a Khmer face though the diadem and chignon aren’t regular-style that I’ve seen before. A stone/cement version of modern origin I’d suggest. I don’t know of the two named people either.

I presume this is in Hong Kong. It looks a very Khmer face though the shape and pattern of the diadem and chignon aren’t seen in any Angkor style as far as I know. It looks pretty weathered stone, so must’ve been there a while. Not encountered the names before.

A Deva Guardian head recently dug up at Victory Gate of Angkor Thom. Now to find the other 107 heads!

The Vishnu sold for nearly 19k Euros at auction. Clearly it’s a victim of looting with arms and legs missing, removed to transport it easier across borders, and a dodgy provenance. Auction houses and policing authorities just look the other way.

This 11th century gilt-bronze Tantric Havajra was sold at auction by German-based Nagel for €59,570 on 7 June. Very likely in Douglas Latchford collection before finding its way to a German collector. 16 arms and 9 heads. #Cambodia

10thC Male Deity from Cambodia up for auction at Koller of Zurich on 17 June.

An auction of Asian art by Koller Auctions of Zurich, Switzerland on 17 June will include this tenth century sandstone Male Deity from ancient Angkor in #Cambodia, which comes from an old Geneva collection. How and when it found its way to Europe is a story we may never be privy to.

It was a pleasure to be a panelist to talk about the repatriation of Khmer antiquities after a screening of the superb film LOOT earlier this week at the Future Forum in Phnom Penh. Excellent organization by the FF team.

Real or Fake? Actually, it was a film prop for the family adventure drama movie, Two Brothers, that was released in 2004, having been partly filmed in Beng Mealea and Angkor. This Shiva replica is made of concrete and is very heavy. It’s part of the decor at Lumiere coffee shop on St110, P/Penh.

If you refer to the 2 lintels, there may be records at the pagoda but no one has responded to enquiries yet.

Everyone in Fresno is so far remaining tight-lipped about these two stunning Khmer treasures from nearly a thousand years ago. How did they find their way from their remote sacred Khmer temple home to a Buddhist pagoda in California? A mystery waiting to be solved.

This 7th century stone Vishnu from Pre-Angkor #Cambodia will be auctioned on 27 June at Galerie Zacke in Austria. Was previously sold by the Chinese Porcelain Company in USA. Carries all the hallmarks of a looted Khmer treasure with scant provenance.

More digging, finding more heads. Excavations at the Victory gate of Angkor Thom, #Cambodia have unearthed two more stone heads from the 13th century. Carry on digging!

A video by visiting monks has revealed two 11th century stone lintels in the grounds of Wat Buddhasasanarangsey in Fresno, California, which it seems no-one in #Cambodia was aware of. Awaiting more details of how they got to Fresno from their Angkorian temple home.
