Yo creo que lo mΓ‘s difΓcil es usar bien el "pitch accent".

Kupiti vs kupovati
Dati vs davati
Uzeti vs uzimati
Otvoriti vs otvarati
Doći vs dolaziti
Dodati vs dodavati
Ući vs ulaziti
Prepoznati vs prepoznavati
Etc

Hay muchΓsimos mΓ‘s.

I saw a sign saying

and my language-nerd brain was like:

"Ah yes, advanced language learners only.” πŸ€“

Nope. Just a hallway telling me where to walk...

I've been using HANLY lately and it’s honestly the best free app I’ve found for learning Chinese characters.

It breaks down each Hanzi into components, shows stroke order, evolution and super helpful mnemonics.

If you’re learning Chinese characters, this app is free and really good.

The German word β€˜Pferd’ and its Dutch cognate β€˜paard’ are horses of mixed breed parentage.

Their common ancestor came from Latin β€˜paraverΔ“dus’ (substitute post-horse), a word composed of an Ancient Greek element and a Gaulish one.

Zoom in on my new infographic to learn everything about it:

People freak out when they see German like:
neunzehnhundertneunundneunzig 😱

But imagine English smashed together:
onethousandninehundredandninetynine

Or Spanish:
milnovecientosnoventaynueve

Any language looks confusing written like this.
German just looks scary at first, but it's not! πŸ˜‰

It’s funny how some people hate the sound of the Spanish β€œZ” and β€œC” (before E or I)… but β€œthink” or β€œthin” in English? No problem. 😏

It’s a quick way to show language skills, but I am sure that many recruiters still value TOEFL/IELTS more. It can be used as a boost, but not as the only proof.

It's going well. I'm enjoying it a lot.

I normally start with Assimil, and after finishing 50% or more of it, I move on to podcasts.

My main hurdle is finding interesting content at my level.

How about you, Alex?
