In olden times Rep. Doe gets incoming feedback from local news or town halls. But no local news and it seems like members of both parties fear town halls. So probably a narrower slice of politicians are getting real-time feedback in the way MTG or, say, AOC are.

Being mediagenic means that, besides broadcasting information out, you also get more information coming back in (ie what journos are asking you about, how people feel about stories featuring you etc.) whereas Rep Joe Doe (R-Mo.) doesn’t get that feedback.
