Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Canada needs to:

β€’ ban share buybacks.

β€’ end dual class share structures.

β€’ break up oligopolies.

β€’ make real estate ownership (and renting it out) far less *profitable*... I.E. raise taxes on rents drastically.

Canada's Productivity Crisis Is The Norm, AI Gains Are Overhyped: BMO - Better Dwelling BMO dumps cold water on the BoC's AI productivity fix. Douglas Porter argues the 'crisis' is actually the norm, & AI gains may be overhyped.

AI won't remotely fix the structural reasons Canada lags in productivity.

As long as we remain a nation that is addicted to oligopoly, financial manipulation and rent seeking to boost profits, we won't improve productivity.

valentine's day isn't just for couples, it's also a day to celebrate love. for instance, i would love it if housing prices came down.

A well-studied look at myths that affect America today. American exceptionalism, vanishing Indians, immigration, America first, American empire, New Deal, Confederate monuments, Southern strategy, police violence, family values feminism, Reagan revolution, voter fraud, and more.

I became Senior VP at a multi-million dollar company at age 26. My salary was $600k. This was in 2018.
How did I do it?

Blacked out lines

CEO (my dad) promoted me to SVP.
There are no gimmicks. There are no shortcuts.

Trump’s EPA repeals landmark climate finding in gift to β€˜billionaire polluters’ Rollback of government’s ability to limit climate-heating pollution will make families β€˜sicker and less safe’, environmental advocate says

Trump has always told us what he'd do and who he'd do it for. It's startling how many people simply didn't believe him, or failed to grasp just how far the fossil fuel industry is willing to go.
