Weird stat of the night:
Winnipeg (24th in points) has as many or more regulation game wins than all but five teams in the NHL.

Just thinking about how fucked up mega-rich people must be, because they can't even enjoy their money properly, because the most enjoyable thing to do with money is to use it to fix people's problems.

It would be a damn shame if ICE, descending on Minneapolis, searched the streets and couldn't find a single person from Somalia. Then, a few weeks later, once ICE withdraws empty-handed, the Minneapolis Somali community can return to their homes from their vacation hosted by the City of Winnipeg.

Currently dorking out over this graph about child mortality with my brother. Just mind boggling to take in.

Water pumping

The pumping of water is a basic and practical technique, far more practical than scooping it up with one's hands or lifting it in a hand-held bucket

Its amazing to introduce the kids to soon to be NHLers and Moose players that are and will be local legends. Thank you for the great opportunity @manitobamoose.bsky.social . And thank you to all the players for giving their time after a hard fought win!

Went to the @manitobamoose.bsky.social team autograph session. Tyrel Bauer continues to be an amazing ambassador for the team. Big fight & made all the kids feel awesome. Hope he gets a chance with the big club

Just tough as nails.

I think if Canada wants to have a strong cultural identity we need to go back to doing what we're best at, making the weirdest fucking TV shows you've ever seen

An older Inuit man with gray hair and a mustache sits indoors in an art gallery, smiling gently at the camera. He wears a teal jacket with a brown corduroy collar over a white shirt. Behind him are various sculptures and framed artworks on display, including a large abstract red piece and bronze animal sculptures on white pedestals. The setting is warmly lit.

That same year, he received the National Aboriginal Achievement Award in the arts category. In late-2010, he was diagnosed with lung cancer. He went through surgery in October 2010 but did not recover. He died on Nov. 23, 2010.

A person stands outdoors in a barren, grassy arctic landscape under a cloudy sky. They are wearing a dark green traditional Inuit parka with fur-lined hood and colorful embroidered patterns in red, yellow, blue, and white around the chest and hem. The person has short black hair, is smiling slightly, and has hands in pockets. They are dressed in light gray pants and green boots. Rocky formations and a flagpole are visible in the background.

During the Inuit printmaking artistic movement in Kinngait (previously Cape Dorset), Kananginak Pootoogook emerged as a leading printer and sculptor.
His work has been exhibited across Canada but today he is celebrated for his artistic genius.
This is his story.

I think he’s playing better than many of the bottom 6 forwards on the roster. I also believe a Phillips Salomonsson pairing would contribute more to winning hockey games than the Schenley pairing. They’re absolute beasts on the PK. Big and quick. 64/5 are just big.
