I have confirmation from several sources now that all T32s, many F30s and F31s, and most or all Center awards (P30, P50) have been terminated at Columbia.

This is quite damaging to research and to individuals.

This is pure terrorism and cannot be legal. But litigation will take time...

Some other notes: VCU is in Richmond, VA, which is a fun and diverse city! I love living here. The position is in-person, though some work may be completed at home. Also, we are in the VCU Department of Psychiatry and my lab is very interdisciplinary, which I love!

There will be opportunities for professional development (graduate school applications, NSF applications + grant writing, authorship opportunities, conference submissions) and mentorship. This is an excellent opportunity for those desiring research experience before graduate or medical school.

The position will also provide training in the fundamentals of human subjects research, like research ethics, experience with regulatory compliance (IRB), and participant recruitment and retention, which are so important to learn for independent research.

The coordinator will gain experience interacting with individuals with eating disorders, as well as hands-on experience with cognitive neuroscience methods (fMRI, neurocognitive tasks, computational modeling), clinical interviews (e.g., EPSI-CRV), and ambulatory assessments (EMA, neurocog tasks).
