Proud to present a Cook County proclamation to the African American Contractors Association at its 32nd Annual Awards Celebration. Congratulations to Omar Shareef and the entire AACA community.

This week, I was honored to join community and business leaders at the Chi Cook United Iftar. Cook County’s Muslim and MENA communities strengthen our region through entrepreneurship, service, and civic leadership.

Today we celebrated the expansion of @pacesuburbanbus.bsky.social On Demand service in Northwest Cook. Supported by Cook County’s Invest in Cook program, this service strengthens first and last mile connections and helps residents access jobs, schools, healthcare and more.

Today we marked the start of the Touhy Avenue Multi-Modal Safety and Capacity Improvement Project, a nearly $100M investment led by Cook County.

This project will improve access to O’Hare and make travel safer for drivers, transit riders, bicyclists and pedestrians.

I'm proud to celebrate the 29th Annual Unsung Heroine Awards for Women’s History Month.

Peggy Montes helped create this tradition to honor the everyday leadership of women across Cook County. Today we recognized 18 remarkable women whose service strengthens our communities.

Today, alongside Governor Pritzker and Lieutenant Governor Stratton, we announced $1.5 billion in medical debt forgiven for Cook County residents, the most of any county in the nation.

More than 630,000 residents have seen their debt erased with more eligible in 2027.

We’re grateful to the General Assembly for responding to our coalition’s call to move the tax sale date. This gives the County time to pursue meaningful reforms this spring focused on keeping families in their homes and ensuring a fair, equitable property tax system for all.

Today I joined community violence intervention leaders and partners to recognize 2025’s historic decline in gun violence and the impact of this work.

Cook County will continue investing in community violence intervention programs that save lives and strengthen communities.

For the final entry in our Black History Month series, we honor John Jones—abolitionist, entrepreneur, and one of Chicago’s earliest Black civic leaders.

His legacy reminds us that progress is built by those willing to lead with courage and an unwavering belief in justice.

Today, I joined our Forest Preserves partners at Caldwell Woods to celebrate the the newly renovated Wellness Center. This space will serve as a community resource focused on nature, wellness, and accessible programming for residents of all ages.

For more than a century, Ada S. McKinley Community Services has empowered Chicago communities through education, health care, and workforce development. This Black History Month, we honor a legacy rooted in service and opportunity.

I had a great time at the Chicago Auto Show this past weekend. For more than a century, this event has brought together bold ideas, incredible design and a glimpse into the future of transportation while filling our city with excitement.

Lunar New Year is a time for reflection, renewal, and hope. We celebrate the Year of the Horse, honor Asian American communities across Cook County, and reaffirm our commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging for all.
