After four months and thirty-seven chapters, each of them appearing a century to the day after the one it describes, Greeneland reachs its conclusion. Graham leaves Nottingham. The whole novel can now be read online (with an epilogue and bonus posts to come).

Delighted that my JSPS KAKENHI (Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research) proposal was successful! With three years of national funding secured, I’m excited to deepen Japan–UK research collaboration.

The final lecture titled “Not the Last Final Lecture: Literacy Education Research as an Endless Journey.”

Attended my doctoral supervisor, Professor Takaharu Yamamoto's, final lecture yesterday.
He mentioned my work several times as a continuation of his early research in poetry education! Honoured beyond words, and ready to carry the baton forward.

As for the source texts, dragons were a hit — but so were nebulae, the moon, insects full of playful onomatopoeia, and dreams. Fun!

Digital found poetry with 10-year-olds today.
They took to it instantly. The poems kept coming, even after they went home.
Teachers later said they found it difficult. They seemed to feel more resistance to breaking the original meaning of the source text. An interesting contrast.
