Wow. President just tried to move budget guidance resolution through without any public comment, explanation.

The resolution is vague, non specific and amounts to very little movement on the budget front.

Appreciate directly calling out the contracted items from the consent agenda while some have already been executed.

Looking forward to hearing how the potential consolidation of elementary networks is going to get us close to that $75 million gap when a single network overhead is less than one million.

Williams has been on this board for a long time, why is he talking like he has not been responsible for budget over this time. Now he wants details? He has had access to details. Lip service.

Appreciate Latta raising that we are going to make hard cuts, rethink staffing models, and analyze programs in order to get to fiscal sustainability.

We are very fortunate to have a finance lead with such understanding of schools and the delicate ecosystem of a district. Deeply unfortunate our board leadership is unwilling to listen to her.

General fund at half of what it was a year ago. Spending all of it down is reckless.

Sincerely hoping that President Brouhard makes time time and space to talk about school level data. Perhaps each board member can present on one school in their district.

The current board leadership’s avoidance of talking about student outcomes for district schools is such a problem. Shout out the parent showing up again to ask for data in every meeting.

Latitude had a strong presentation. Wonderful to see EFC highlighting progress for students with IEPs and English Language Learners.

So today we learn that the board was warned of the fall out of their actions and yet they still play dumb? Shameful.

An interesting close to the meeting. President Brouhard adjourned the meeting without any indication of when a new resolution to counter her own clearly faulty policy might be heard.

Board members should not be leaving meetings early.

The boards inability to govern effectively is really concerning. The student school board members are the most professional of the bunch.

Watching Brouhard and Bachelor evade any responsibility for their resolution is maddening.

OUSD Board leadership really messed up trying to freeze funds for contracts. Parroting OEA leadership without any understanding of what contracts and consultants are doing was a bad faith measure that directly hurts children.

And implosion.

Brouhard asking for questions to be answered on the spot. Asking for clarity on how service minutes are being served. Asking questions about a single students service minutes which violates their privacy, but I understand her intent to ensure needs are being met.

AIMS continues to increase their population of students with disabilities, but at 6%, they are far below district averages. In my analysis, other schools in Oakland, including other charters, are above 10% with most above 12%

OUSD board infighting is toxic and a poor example to our children.
