LAUNCH and FAILURE of Gilmour Space Eris flight 1 from Bowen Spaceport, Australia at about 2235 UTC Jul 29. Rocket ascended about 50 metres while maintaining vertical attitude but translating sideways, and impacted near pad after a 20 second flight. Image from Aussienaut youtube coverage.

I may be slightly naive, but I would have expected that to be done and dusted months in advance.

Statement from the event organizer: The safety of visitors and participants is our top priority! It is with sincere regret that we announce that the largest airshow in the Baltics, the Baltic International Airshow 2025, planned for this weekend, will not take place due to security considerations. We have received information that the State Security Service, the State Police, and the State Fire and Rescue Service have not approved our submitted security plan for a High-risk event, and as a result, a public event permit cannot be issued. We did everything in our power to change the decision of the authorities, but unfortunately, without success. Over the past year, we have invested significant time, effort, and resources to make this airshow a reality. Despite our efforts, the safety of all participants, visitors, caterers, vendors, volunteers, and everyone else involved in the event remains our main priority, and we have no choice but to postpone the 2025 event to June 27-28, 2026
Still somewhat bummed by yesterday's announcement of the cancellation/postponement of the Baltic International Airshow in #Rīga. We'll still drive down to #Latvia for the weekend, but will need to find another family friendly main event to attend. #AvGeek #airshow #Riga

We have visual destruction of 8. We haven't seen any close up video from 3 bases. So 20-30 is very realistic. 40-50 would be optimistic but feasible
Unless these decisions are reversed, this will be remembered as a disastrous week for @NASA. First, I am not optimistic that whomever this administration nominates next for NASA Administrator will be nearly as qualified or enthusiastic about the agency’s mission as Jared.
