Finally, a video game that's good.

Venba is a game that ostensibly looks like it belongs in the cozy and wholesome section until the struggles with discrimination and intersectionality reveal themselves. It hits incredibly hard and I loved every second of it.

Venba (2023)
What a delicious little game. Absolutely delightful visuals and simple mechanics with a storybook real and heartfelt that I was absolutely transfixed! I beat it in a single sitting after wanting to try it for years and now I am emotionally and craving biryani and spicy chicken soup.

Found myself really immersed in 'Venba' (2023). I can't speak from a personal standpoint, but I like to think the themes it was trying to get across were handled with care.

Found myself caring for the characters and their struggles.

The cooking aspects were very fun to play and the music bopped.

Anytime I see this game in motion I just stare at all the parts and details in the mechs... it comes through even stronger in the demo.

We've updated Dosa Divas demo to better explain Perfect Blocks, added some features, and a bunch of fixes. It's live on Steam.

Press the Block button right before an attack makes contact for a Perfect Block and take zero damage.

Just finished a very sweet title from @visaigames.bsky.social and it's called Venba, it was the perfect palette cleanser. So unique and such heart in the story with themes of identity, family & culture. I played it just before dinner was ready and cooking all those recipes definitely made me hungry!

I've started Venba during lunchbreak and it's charming 🍲🥘💚

Just finished playing the game ‘Venba’! A very short and sweet game about a family moving to Canada from India, and their experiences after moving here. And after you finish the game, you get all the recipes for the dishes you made, so you can make them irl!

Um jogo com uma proposta simples, porém familiar e tocante, é uma história que me fez refletir bastante,me emocionei bastante com o final dele.

Una historia muy emotiva, con una narración de 10, que te cuenta sin explicarte demasiado pero dejándote claro lo que pasa. Es una obra llena de amor, hecha con muchísimo cariño y detalle. Muy recomendable

This is such a lovely little game!

Venba is a fascinating look at cooking and the immigrant experience. Its use of Tamil cuisine to tell a story about adapting to a new culture, how your child will develop differently than you in a new place, and a lost connection to a heritage is amongst the best I've experienced.
