You should be aware that many hospitals in the US have things for low income families, if you do some research and talk to the hospital you might be able to get their bill zero’d or massively discounted

Just woke up to the news that my mom broke her ankle at about 4am this morning.

She has to be admitted to the hospital and have surgery. This is all happening 2 hours away and i have no ability to get there. I need a day off desperately.

We have zero insurance, so needless to say im (1/2)

It is becoming more normalized such that brands usually use their actual website's URL as their handle SO if it's a "brand", and looks suspicious; check the domain/handle! GOTCHA #2 THE POSITIONING OF FOLLOWS & FOLLOWERS ARE SWAPPED ON BLUESKY COMPARED TO TWITTER Followers on LEFT now Following on RIGHT now GOTCHA #3 GENERAL CYBERSECURITY THINGS. 1) Pay attention to misspellings in usernames 2) Don't click any unknown links in someone's bio t.co links are what Twitter uses to shorten links on their platform. Some people just copy and pasted their bios from Twitter to their Bluesky bios, this also copied the t.co linkage. This means, in turn, t.co links can redirect to ANY site. Since we're unfortunately getting an influx of fake/malicious accounts pouring into this site now....

I think it might be important to give a few things to look out for and keep in mind when spotting FAKE accounts since things on Bluesky are **SLIGHTLY** different than on Twitter

I keep getting deadnamed in my house and my family is like “what if I changed my name to like Frank tomorrow?” And I’m like??? No??? Do it?? I’d support you?? What is the argument here??

Transphobia is literally “I don’t feel that way or want that so you shouldn’t either”.

I don't want to bash everyone who is religious. I know religion means a lot to some people and I won't take that freedom away.

On the contrary, religious institutions repressiveness against queer rights is still felt broadly as justifications like "think of the kids" have been used historically.

And everyone wonders why religion is a problem.

It is a problem in the west as much as the Middle East and some parts of Africa.

Seperation of church and state means nothing when those same people want the 10 commandments in classrooms.
