The Scourge of Ninepoint by @bonesmckay.bsky.social is SO gorgeous. I think it largely comes from the character design, but the spirit world stands out as well for being especially beautiful!

There's so much eye-candy here, and it comes with a fantastic story as the cherry on top!

alpha code /ˈal-fə ˌkōd/ noun: A four-letter abbreviation of a bird’s common name. Also known as a bird code or banding code, it’s part of a system of standardized abbreviations that enable birders, ornithologists, and bird banders to take speedy notes and otherwise communicate quickly. For example, the Scale-crested Pygmy-Tyrant has an ungainly name, but you can use the alpha code system and shorten it to SCPT. Some alpha codes are straightforward, like RUFF for Ruff and OVEN for Ovenbird. Some are cute, like BABE for Barred Becard, BUFF for Bufflehead, and WHIM for Whimbrel. Some are confusing, like DOVE for Dovekie (which is not a dove) and CROW for Crested Owl (which is not a crow). Some are unfortunate, like LEAK for Lesser ‘Akialoa, BLOW for Bare-legged Owl, and GASH for Galapagos Shearwater. The code for Dickcissel is exactly what you think it would be.
