ALIENS HAVE KIDNAPPED CHRISTMAS

I’d say the Elfin/Santa dynamic. While Elfins father is in the story, there is conflict there. With Santa he can be more open. Santa is like that teacher you might go to when you don’t feel comfortable going to your parents. Something I’ll explore more in the future!

THE MONSTER SQUAD

The Fearsome Fivesome group of boys. Those friends that you do everything with and have your back. Think of the Stranger Things kids and what they have been like growing up and that’s how I see this group.

Nothing romantic. An angry sixty-something woman with her annoyingly optimistic, twenty-something therapist. They're oil and water in the beginning, but find common ground in spite of their different ages and wealth (or lack thereof!). Like the show Hacks but focused on mental health.

I kept the animals in my fantasy novel similar to what we have. They keep cats and dogs as pets. In the wild, there are bears, snakes, song birds and other animals. In another fantasy novel I wrote, there are dragons.
