This line of thinking is a fallacy, as we’ve seen with Zohran’s ability to tap into populist ideas in a way centrist/mainstream Dems often seem allergic to, and unlock new voters

Re: 2, this allows the rhetorical trick of saying we need to elect a centrist candidate who will peel away votes from the moderate right, while there is “no upside” to electing a more progressive candidate, as all those votes are a given, even for centrist Dem, unless you are a superficial wrecker
