2025 was a wild year to be president of a professional society focused on science and environmental management, but I'm so lucky to work with these folks. I am in awe of the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone in the lake community who volunteers their time and expertise for @nalms.bsky.social.

Can the past give clues on blue-green algae blooms? These Laurentian University researchers think so | CBC News Masters student Mackenzie Hobbs has been collecting sediment from northeastern Ontario lakes to determine how industrialization has affected blue-green algae levels in those waters.
