I think the writers intentionally gave Connor the most offensive and ableist line, while the other cast played more offensive “parts.” I think they let a lot ride on him being the host. Not the first time they’ve done this.

last thing I’ll say is EVERYONE knew this sketch was bombing in the room. When the camera wasn’t on him, Connor sent a 😬 look to the cast beside him.

Could he have pushed back on this one? Did he? Who knows. He’s green and new to all this. Not an excuse but hoping he learned from the experience.
