Thrilled to share our perspective in Nature Mental Health on TMS to the βdark sideβ of the brain. TMS is usually delivered to the frontal lobes, yet neuroimaging often points out that posterior brain regions are linked to psychiatric illness - maybe valuable new TMS targets?

following 14 sessions of iTBS, cTBS or sham, we found overall subtle changes to drinking and BDNF β female mice, however, experienced greater (& significant) changes in drinking! maybe this maps on to a growing literature that females tend to have better clinical outcomes for tms β¦
