I still mourn one that was doing cool DIY with whatever you have art that fell hard into promoting NFTs and more recently AI and totally tanked their channel. How do you fall in love with making things yourself and pivot to something so antithetical?

Behind a glass display case is a 5x3 quilt with each quilt block being an incredibly realistic fabric portrait of people and/or animals, plants, or objects. Smiling couples, a woman with a dog in her lap, a woman in a hijab, medical professionals, etc. There’s a peculiar pair of blocks where a grape vine covers both. On the left block a man is picking grapes from it. On the right a John Deere tractor is on the ground but it looks like the grape vine is sitting in it? Furthermore the grapevine is shaped like a T-Rex and I’m not sure if that’s intentional but from a distance it looks like a leafy dinosaur is riding a lawnmower.

Having a Friday night MRI was not a blast but upside was seeing a hospital basement full of portrait quilts like this. Cool as heck.

I Am Legend. I get that it’s an inspiration for many modern horror properties but the weirdly aggressive horny and misogynistic energy was bad. We all were not a fan of the main character patting himself on the back for not SA’ing sleeping vampire women more than once. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I had my first book club meeting tonight and everyone absolutely hated the book. I was so nervous that I was an illiterate hater without taste.

No joke the guy is the fucking librarian at my husband’s athletic club. They just bumped into each other. He volunteers there to get free parking in their parking structure. God the world is tiny!

One of my husband’s birthday surprises was going to a nearby small town’s history museum. The historian there chatted us up about a hundred years of history and the archival work they do there. I love hearing about daily lives of everyday people. We had a blast tbh. Guy lived there for 80 years.

People will go on and on all day, every day, lecturing us about looking out for one another, about decency, yet they never once use alt text. You know what these people are: PERFORMATIVE ASSHOLES. Accessibility isn’t a suggestion, it is the bare minimum for people you claim to give a damn about

I’ve made cardamom buns for the first time this past week and got tea cookie dough from the freezer and made those this morning. Something so fulfilling in making little treats when staying inside!

I’m sitting in a pink chair doing cross stitch in my office with a pink cat blanket. My cat Coconut lays across my lap completely unperturbed by the craft stand holding an embroidery hoop over top of him. Coconut is a beautiful orange and white cat who is always affectionate but especially so today. I’m in a black tee, my new gray glasses, and outside of camera view am working on a Jigglypuff cross stitch I started in like 2016.

My friend’s D&D birthday party just got moved to tomorrow to avoid driving through a huge snowstorm on Sunday. So thoughtful.. but I also volunteered to bake cardamom buns and thought I had days to prep and chill overnight. 🥲

A friend got me into She-ra and I just finished season one. Netflix is pulling it soon but I recommend getting creative if you don’t have a month to binge a series. Very cute and fun

I have my next (fifth) arm surgery on Friday. Today’s prep includes shaving my entire forearm. I also am not allowed to shave my face or anywhere else after today in case the tiny hairs get somewhere they shouldn’t? shit is weird

Just finished sewing a little quilted desk mat. The fabric was originally for a project for someone else but it was too cute to not keep for myself. 😊

A cropped screenshot of my insurance summary from the online portal. The claims totals row says amount charged is $116,277.03. Insurance covered $113,040.89 and I paid $3,236.14 out of pocket.

For funsies I checked to see how much trying to fix my arm has cost my insurance over the last two years. We're onto surgery five next month and I'm no better than when I started. Wonder if I'll have the privilege of cracking 200k next year.
