Pika closed his eyes as an elderly woman gently ran her fingers through his fur, picking out short jagged crystals from his back as he used his mouth and paws to take some off his side to help with the preening.

Pika's eyes lit up, sparkling with gratitude as he beamed with a bright grin.

"Pika!" No translation needed it was a clear thank you.

Should he warn them about what happens to him sometimes so they don't worry? Maybe later. For now he was just happy to be traveling again.

He paused before giggling softly.

Pika nodded, pride in his eyes as he grinned. Red was the best of the best! And the little mouse was more than grateful to be a part of his team.

Beaming, he continued writing after cleaning away the charcoal with a sweep of his paw.

Pika beamed brightly, red eyes warm as he took a bite of the apple. Before he began writing again. The Little runt was happy to talk. And learn about others if he could. His cheeks flush in embarrassment as he looked up at the pair.

Pika squirmed free, running up the other's arm to excitedly nuzzle his cheek, careful to not shock him.

"Pii-ka!" He replied with a happy cheer, his eyes closing in joy.

"Pika pika?" Could he understand him? The little mouse didn't think so, but he figured he should ask.

"I've learned that lonely roads can lead to hearts of gold. I'll protect the world..."

Pika can speak, but he didn't want to freak her out.

Pika nodded, glancing around and finding a small piece of wood. Running over to it, he charred it a safe distance away before returning.

He wrote the words using the charcoal on the stone at their feet.

And circled Yuji. Red had a little heart with a lightning tail beside his name.

He's carving little notes in trees.

Just little messages if Ash or Red find them.

He had stayed with Ash for a while in his search, it was a nice time.

He doubted the girl would understand all that.

Instead, he nodded.

[His name is Red, but I'm also traveling with a nice guy named Yuji.]

They met Ash and helped him with Team Rocket because Arceus asked. There Red learned that Pika could one shot a Kyogre... Not that he had a choice.

Time and time again they would glitch from each other just as soon as they found each other again. But none of that really mattered now did it?

It eventually formed into Necrozma, and continued corrupting and eating universes until finally stopped in one timeline by Elio and Selene.

But at the center of all of that was Red. Their battle with the gods, the Elite Four, the battle with Ethan and the World Championship.

Lave flooding the waters and consuming Pallet town and the Seafoam islands because of Heatran. Palkia and Dialga fighting, Missingno. Missingno corrupted the world and erased it to create a new copy.

Pika snickered at that, he understood completely. He had met quite a few other Mon who were the same way; he was just grateful for the company.

Moving to pick up an apple piece, the chubby Pikachu froze at the question. Images racing through his mind.

But he would be making new friends so it was okay! At least that's what he constantly told himself. He thought he had almost found other trainers he knew, but they hadn't lasted long.

In truth he was wanting to ask if they had seen a trainer with a Red hat, but figured why not make a new friend first. If he was lucky they had seen his Master, but knowing his luck that probably wouldn't be the case.

Pika gave a polite bow as he beamed at the pair with bright crimson eyes.

[It's a pleasure to meet both of you! Thank you for being so kind.] He commented with a happy sway of his little tail as he bounced slightly in his toes.

Pika giggled lightly at the meowscarada, moving to offer his tail in a handshake of sorts. He was familiar with huffy, he'd met Ash's Charizard.

"Pika!" He held up two fingers: both!

"Pikachu: Pika." 𝘔𝘺 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘪𝘴: 𝘗𝘪𝘬𝘢.

The small white mouse's ears perked at the mention of food.

Pi?

Running over to the pair, Pika held up an apple.

"Pika!"

Friend? New friends?

Dinner time!

The mouse pouted, ears low.

But after a few seconds, he gave the other a bright grin: apology accepted!

"Chu." He'll offer a pecha berry as a goodwill offering.

"Pika?"

He's been startled awake, his cheeks are sparking harmlessly.

"Pi."

Grumpy chu is grumpy.

There was a rustle in the grass as a small runt of a pikachu rubbed his eyes giving a big yawn, waddling into view. This Pikachu was a bit different from normal. It was chubbier, and its fur looked white.

Link blinked offering Yuji a grin.

"Hey, Pika (@pikachuoflegend.bsky.social), any luck?"

He's on a new adventure!

And has a new companion!

"I'm Sorry Mike."
