I'd see 20 bunnies at a time in my backyard (planted with clover). This year a new coyote family has moved in and the bunny population has gone back down.

In our case, we had in the late 2010s so saw bunnies rarely. That colony seemed to move out in 2023 and we started to see more bunnies. Last year we had a population explosion.

22.04.2025 16:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You canβt overstate the historic importance of todayβs speech to both American and Canadian citizens by Canadaβs Prime Minister.
Please watch it and share it wherever you live, but especially if youβre in the United States. You need to know what Trump is doing, and why. youtu.be/wz_42pckM7w
Here's the speech if you haven't heard it. 13 minutes of your time. Share it with your American friends and neighbours, because they won't see it otherwise. Circulate it in Mexico and Denmark, France and the UK, Panama and Germany, Poland and Estonia, and especially -- especially -- Ukraine.

The other factor is that cancellation of buses is a three-party decision (both school boards and the Student Transportation org) while the decision about school closures is made by the school boards independently.
My kid and I decided together on Monday that they would stay home from their magnet program high school for exactly this reason. Today they succumbed to the lure of test prep.
Waterloo Region does have the complexity of the urban/rural divide... On a blowing snow day, rural roads can be wicked.
And since 2020 our friends in the offensive world have a new favourite holiday season....
So Happy Ruin An Incident Responder's Christmas to all who celebrate!
Duty of loyalty is one of the fiduciary duties a board member (of any board) carries. That's all I'm going to say right now.

While that was the final nail, my post count started going down after I stopped posting about school board issues.
What does the aurora REALLY look like?
(megathread)
This is a perennial question that seems to get brought up constantly in forums online, and after the big geomagnetic storms last month, I kept seeing false information about what the aurora "really looks like..."
"Vote for me so I can spend the next year scolding you about how terrible you are for the things that I do" was a hell of a sales pitch from the Cin-ster.

Alt text is descriptive text that conveys the meaning of an image. It's designed to make visual content accessible to people with vision disabilities. When a person uses assistive technology such as a screen reader, the screen reader will read the onscreen text aloud 1/7

Did you know that dogs in ancient Mesopotamia also refused to drop the ball?
