I've moved 3x bodyweight once in my life and it made me feel like an absolute monster. Doing this at 9 years old is unbelievable

Oh the arena looks massive on screen because it IS massive, I'm more amazed by how intimate it feels when you're inside it

I understand that Co-op Live is the biggest indoor arena in Europe and it looks massive on screen but it's really weird being inside it because it doesn't actually feel much bigger than an academy show when you're standing. I have no idea how they've achieved it.

They just made everyone put their phones in plastic covers that blocked the cameras

An addendum to the stray thoughts: I've only read two of Han Kang's books but they were both incredible. Do I need to have read all of her work to call her a favourite author? And if so, how big does an author's body of work have to be before that's no longer the case?

Anyway thanks for attending Stray Thoughts Saturday, where we abandon threads without attempting to come to a conclusion because it's bed time.

Then you have someone like Susanna Clarke who only has two novels and a short story collection. I love them all but that doesn't feel enough of a body of work to constitute a favourite author.

The flip side of this is that I'd probably tell you Stephen King is one of my favourites, but there are several of his books that I absolutely hate and I don't think I've only enjoyed a couple of his post-Joyland releases. And Joyland was 2013. So why does he make the list?

Why wouldn't I think to name him in an off-the-cuff list of my favourite authors? I genuinely don't know, because I think he should absolutely be there.

If you asked me to name my favourite authors I don't think Reynolds' name would come up, but I come back to him time and again I know he's always going to deliver a book I really, really like. I've never read a novel by him that I didn't enjoy, and Pushing Ice is absolutely my favourite SF novel.

Finally getting around to reading Alastair Reynolds' Poseidon's Children series and so far I unsurprisingly love it.

It's also making me think a lot about how we define our "favourite" authors.
