I lost my Mom to pancreatic cancer when I was 19. She was only 47.

My grandmother also died from it at 53.

When Mom was diagnosed, she sat me down and said she knew exactly what I was feeling because she felt the same way when her Mom was dying.

Then you know that it's not realistic to expect a reporter to be an expert in every story they cover.
That doesn't mean we don't know what's going on.

There's so much bashing of the media, when the reporters I know are trying so hard under awful circumstances.

Why add to it?

A reporter's job is to write about many issues across a beat. I write about neurology, psychedelics, loneliness etc., as part of the medical beat.

Even the experts I interview rarely know what's "REALLY" going on across their entire field.

And.. you're not a reporter, right? You're a flack?
