Day 2 - Not much watching or knitting today. Watched the team skate and continued on the gusset.

This Italian skating team is so exited they got me tearing up lol

The ITA & CAN speed skating matchup was a thrill! As was Gogolev’s skate. Cast on my sock stitches and got up to the gusset.

Day 1: Not too much today! Caught up on the team skate from Day 0, men's big air, women's 3000m speed skating, and part of the team skate day 1. The X games style sports are so fun because all the competitors seem like friends, and I love Craig McMorris's commentary.

I’m planting myself in front of the TV for the next two weeks for the Olympics! I like to keep my hands busy so my goal is to finish a sock (already have the first of a pair done) and most if not all of a cardigan!

Plans still pending but I'm definitely going to hit up the archives and the Randall house museum for some Best family history. It turns out my sister is talking at a conference in May so we're planning to link up and do Cape Breton together, which should be fun!

It's been a few weeks since I sent off some letters to descendants so now I get to play the "Is the letter still in transit or am I being ghosted?" game

That amounted to $100 last year, but would be over $1000 this year! But of course I'm now going to just avoid it whenever possible, which means harder family tracing

It might not sound like much but in Canadian that went from $2.80 to $30 CAD per will 😤😤😤

Because the price was so reasonable I used it all the time, even though frankly the service and interface is terrible. I looked through my account and in 2025 I ordered 36 wills.

FML probatesearch, the UK's service for scanning and sending probate documents from 1858-present, went from £1.50 to £16. I used it literally ALL the time for genealogy. For a few of the Franklin crew I looked at, it was the sole reason I was able to find living descendants.

The Ragtime 2025 revival Broadway cast recording is out 🎉🎉🎉

Ultimately I think the mixing and energy is better in the original Broadway cast, but I am a huge Joshua Henry fan and generally thought this was an excellent cast so I'm so happy to get their version of these songs!

I already got a response from the first person I reached out to, and it turns out she's adopted! I couldn't find her birth record but thought maybe she was just born outside of England 🤦‍♀️ That's the first time that's happened so far 😅

I have others but no one online so time to write some letters!
