Every time I play a journaling rpg, I get stuck about 20 minutes in when I run out of ideas and the prompts are too vague to really inspire anything. IDK if this is just because I'm playing the freebies or if I dont vibe with journaling rpgs or I dont have the kind of writingbrain that works for em.

Classic Who was always cursed with having good ideas, and occasionally very good acting, trapped inside an awful format that stretches every premise to tedious length. Sometimes this ends up not being a problem, when it's ratcheting tension for horror-adjacent mystery.

It's not as simple as "money = trophies", the fact is that good horsetrading is a bigger factor. You can't buy good horsetraders as easily as you can increase salary. This is why the Mets perennially suck ass despite #2 spend. They have money but suck at building and managing.

The lowest spender who made it to WC was the Guardians (#23 out of 30 in spending). The Brewers (#22) made it to the NLCS. The Mainers (#15) made it to the ALCS.

In 2025, money didn't buy you the world series. But being a cheapass owner (bottom 7 spending) did deny you playoffs.
